Calling all youth ages 11-15! Are you looking for a way to earn a little extra money this summer? How about babysitting! Get Red Cross certified with our Babysitter’s Training Class on Saturday, May 18. This will be the last class of this type offered until fall. Please see our Spring Program Guide for all the details and registered today!

On Friday, April 19th at 7:00 pm there will be a Boston Marathon Memorial Run/Walk in Grand Haven.  This is not a YMCA event, it is an impromptu event organized by local running enthusiasts.

Participants will gather at the Farmer’s Market parking lot in Grand Haven.  We will run/walk on the boardwalk to the end of the south pier so it will be public and not disrupt residents.  This will not be a competitive event.  There will not be any t-shirts, give-aways or concessions.  This is a walk to honor those in Boston so everyone is encouraged to wear as much GREEN as possible.  Let’s have a great turn out and encourage everyone to participate, no matter the age or ability.

The date for the Youth Lock In this month has been changed to SATURDAY, APRIL 20!

In addition to changing days, the lock in will also have a little bit of altered times.  Drop off will be between 9:00pm and 9:20pm, and pick up will be between 7:30am and 8:00am. 

We have a new waiver that we need each parent to sign that gives permission for youth to swim, play on the gymnastics equipment, and use the bounce house.  If the parents are not going to drop the youth off, this waiver will be available by emailing Nicole at tac@tcfymca.org or at the front desk on Wednesday next week.

Activities will include a Pool Dance Party, Dodgeball Tournament, rock climbing, basketball, the bounce house, elimination, apples to apples, and MORE! 

The price is $20 if you register by Wednesday, April 17th.  After Wednesday, the price goes up to $30.  Call the front desk at (616) 842-7051 or stop in to register!

Community Clean-Up Day Saturday, April 20, 8:30 am – 11:30 am.  Bring the family and your gardening gloves for a morning of Y beautification. Afterwards, we encourage you to continue the celebration of Earth Day by attending the Earth Day parade and Fair at the Grand Haven Community Center. 

The Y has installed 4 new rowing machines in the weight room for your exercising pleasure!  If you are new to rowing, check out this VIDEO to learn about rowing technique.
